This house plan is a 6 bed barndominium style home with a total of 4,590 square feet of heated living space. It also includes a 1,090 square foot 2-car garage with a guest apartment behind it, which can be used as an in-law suite, multi-generational living space, or rental. The house features a full wraparound porch.
The entry of the house opens up to a great room with a fireplace and French doors that lead to the back porch. The kitchen has an island with seating for up to four people, a walk-in pantry, and is open to both the dining room and the great room. The layout of the bedrooms is split, maximizing privacy. The master suite occupies the entire right side of the home and includes an office that can be accessed through a pocket door. Bedroom 2 is located on the opposite side of the home and has direct access to Bathroom 2.
Upstairs, there is a loft that overlooks the great room below. On either side of the loft, there are two matching pairs of bedrooms, each measuring 14′ by 12′, and they share Jack and Jill bathrooms.
This house plan was specifically designed with a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) in mind. A PEMB is the most commonly used structure when building a barndominium. It can be engineered, fabricated, and shipped to any location in the world. Additionally, a PEMB can be installed in a shorter time compared to a traditionally framed home. This allows for the project to be in a dry state quickly and makes interior build-outs more convenient, as there is no need to support roof loads. The metal house plan is also available with 2×6 exterior framing, which can be selected from the Options menu.
