Barndominium Design’ house plans adhere to the International Residential Code (IRC) and the codes of the area where the designer is based or where the structure was erected.

Different states, counties, or municipalities have unique building and code stipulations. Your chosen plan might need alterations to align with these local standards. Areas prone to natural threats like coastlines, seismic zones, strong winds, or heavy snow may require these changes. In such regions, consulting a licensed structural engineer for the necessary adjustments and illustrations is advisable. Using our designs implies your commitment to adhere to all regional building norms, regulations, and related processes, inclusive of permits and periodic checks during the building phase. It’s beneficial to consult your local building authorities for up-to-date guidelines.

Please note, pre-drawn plans from Barndominium Design lack the stamp of a certified architect. Should your regional building authority mandate it, consider seeking the services of an architect or engineer to evaluate and stamp the plans.

All plan rights and ownership remain with the original designer. The designer, acting as the Licensor, grants you—the Licensee—the permission to use these plans for a singular construction. All our designs are shielded by the Federal Copyright Act, Title XVII of the U.S. code, and Chapter 37 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
